The startup program will support growing an inclusive tech ecosystem at next week’s conference.

Google for Startups has become the latest Connections Sponsor for the upcoming Monetery Tech Summit to be held in Des Moines on May 21 and 22, 2019.

Monetery, in its second year, is fast becoming one of the premier technology conferences in the Midwest. Hundreds of CEOs, startup founders, investors and inventors from around the country are expected for the two-day conference, held in the Temple for the Performing Arts in downtown Des Moines.

The conference’s mission is to grow an inclusive tech ecosystem, and announced speakers include Matthew Prince, co-founder and CEO of Cloudflare, Martina Lauchengco, operating partner at Costanoa Ventures, Albert Wenger, managing partner at Union Square Ventures, Dave Tucker, Sr. Vice-President of Technology at Workiva, Sherri Davidoff, CEO at LMG Security & BrightWise, Inc., hacker and entrepreneur Harper Reed, and Andrew Yang, an entrepreneur who is seeking the Democratic nomination for President of the United States in 2020. The conference will consist of presentations, panels and personal meetings with venture capitalists and other investors.

“Monetery is about growing the established tech ecosystem here in the Midwest,” says Stephanie Atkin, VP of Marketing at Dwolla, the Des Moines-based financial technology company that produces Monetery. “This region is attractive to startups for many reasons but we also are aware that people live here — they raise families, they shop, they eat out. With the opportunity of hundreds of CEOs and investors from around the country in Des Moines, potentially for the first time, we knew we needed to create a place for them to make connections and show off the city. Google for Startups is committed to our mission of supporting thriving startup ecosystems and, thanks to them, Monetery will be an unforgettable experience.”

Google for Startups comprises Google’s efforts to level the playing field for startup founders and communities by connecting them to the best of Google’s resources. With a deep commitment to inclusion and creating a more representative next generation of startup founders, Google is eager to support Monetery’s momentum in building a strong and diverse startup ecosystem in the Midwest.
