The Global Wealth Report by Credit Suisse estimates that the global top 1% richest individuals own a 43.3% share of the global wealth.

Let’s put this into perspective.

Imagine the global wealth as a cake with 100 pieces. There are 100 people vying for a piece of it.

Out of these 100 people, someone will get 43 pieces of cake.

I get it, alarm bells are ringing. How can such an atrocity be allowed to exist? It seems unfair that someone gets 43 pieces of cake while the rest fight over scraps.

But the question one needs to ask is how did that person acquire the 43 pieces in the first place? Did the person receive additional help or preferential treatment?

It is fair

I am not a millionaire, but I don't blame them for my financial situation.

However, I have seen many comments and articles bashing the world’s richest people. A common demand I see is to have them distribute their wealth to make the world a better place for all.
