Maybe you’ve heard the phrase “aped in” or “aping in.”

It’s a phrase coined by the NFT community. NFT standing for non-fungible token. A one-of-a-kind representation of something—usually artwork or photography—on the blockchain.

To ape in, means to buy and support a NFT art collection. Usually by purchasing one or more NFT from that collection.

And for some reason — actually two specific reasons — celebrities are snatching up these JPEG images like they’re made of gold and diamonds.

The two most noteworthy NFT brands in the world are CryptoPunks and Bored Ape Yacht Club.

Some experts consider CryptoPunks the start of the NFT niche. While Bored Apes is the most widely recognizable NFT collection, securing a partnership with sports clothing brand, Adidas.
