A Home Away From Home
Are you an expat in a foreign country or a local eagerly waiting for your new home to be ready? Either way, you still need a place to stay in the meantime.
Like many, choosing a temporary lodging can be tedious and exhausting. So today we tried out a service residences deep within the heart of downtown Singapore. Lush greenery amongst a jungle of iron skyscrapers. Sounds heavenly?
Nestled deep within the heart of the Orchard Road shopping belt in Singapore is Lanson Place Winsland.
For those who dream of living downtown, with accessibility to shopping and dining just a stone throw away, Lanson would be the perfect choice for you. Especially with Orchard Central just across the road.
Forget big fancy receptions and the fanfare the other big fancy brands offer. As an expat in Singapore, comfort, accessibility and above all, a spacious room are the essentials during one’s search for a place to stay.
At Lanson, they offer a wide variety of rooms ranging from Studio Suites (21–26 m sq) to rooms as large as Two- Bedroom Premier Suites (100–127 m sq).
We had the pleasure of staying in a One-Bedroom Premier Suite which was equipped with everything a business executive or a young couple would ever need. In addition to the usual amenities, we found a fully equipped kitchen with even a washer cum dryer within the unit.
Though often taken for granted, in-unit washers are dryers are not always provided in Singapore. And when they aren’t they might provide communal washing facilities. As compared to other one bedroom units in Singapore, Lanson’s units were more spacious with touches of luxury within.
At Lanson’s gym, they have all the machines to keep you slim and fit. Weights, Treadmill, Steps Machine, Outdoor Punching bag, you name it they have it!
Their gym faces the road hence you can even enjoy the world go by while exercising. P.S. Here’s a gym joke to brighten your day. Our moms are really strong, cause somehow, they managed to raise dumb bells like us.
Many a times, we feel like a hamster running continuously on a never ending wheel. With each passing day, the wheel seems to gather momentum till someday the hamster eventually tumbles and falls.
At Lanson, despite providing a serene sanctuary to reside in, it comes with a splash of greenery within its indoor courtyard. As we strolled through the lush greenery, we felt a blanket of peace and calm wash over us.
Unlike other properties which mostly tend to have a garden exposed to direct sunlight, the courtyard at Lanson rarely receives direct sunlight but is unsheltered hence giving you a glimpse of the clear blue skies.
Thinking of hosting an event amongst family and friends or business associates? Fret not! Cookhouse@9 located within Lanson provides a cosy ambiance for just the occasion. It even has a fully functional kitchen within should you decide to hire a private chef or whip up a sumptuous meal.
Stroll on up to the rooftop of Lanson and you’ll be treated to a warm dose of Vitamin D.
Alternatively, take a relaxing dip in a bubbling jacuzzi whilst enjoying the Singapore skyline. In the evenings, enjoy a smoky treat over the grill with friends and family over the roof top barbecue pit as the sun sets beyond the horizon.
All in all, big spacious rooms with touches of luxury and all your essentials, it has never felt more like home.
