Mention the words hot pot and we instantly think Hai Di Lao or the collagen soup base steamboats.

The Cosy Interior

As we glided through the sliding doors at Mao Master, we were transported to a cosy corner in China as the village like wooden huts and lights greeted us.

The Wide Variety Of Dishes For Your Hot Pot

Off to the side was a huge variety of meats and seafood which diners would choose and place within a plastic container which would eventually arrive bubbling within the hotpot.

Some Sides To Go Along

This was served amidst an array of cooked side dishes such as chicken feet and fish balls.

A Steamy Surprise

Our favourite was the paper fish which sort of lives up to its name as it arrived sizzling wrapped in paper and resting on a hot plate.

Paper Fish

As the waitress opened the paper after the alarm buzzed, a plume of smoke erupted from within releasing the fragrant smell of spices within.

A Mouth Watering Spread

Despite the fact the dishes were swimming in chilli’s, it was surprisingly mildly spicy and very tolerable even us who are not big fans of chilli.

The Entrance

Overall it was a very mouthwatering and unique experience for us which we highly recommend.
