Artisanal Scones Review : Toki Bear

Attracted by their adorable packaging and truffle scones, we decided to put a theory to a test. Many of us are guilty of lying in bed aimlessly flipping through social media and winding up with all sorts of cravings for breakfast the next day. But can the cafes/shops rise up to the occasion and fulfil such last minute cravings?

So we sent them a DM at 7pm in the evening stating our intention to place an order for breakfast the next day. Unfortunately, that didn’t go too well because their apologetic reply came 4 days later. Then again, we do know that more often than not messages end up in the messages request section and get missed. So, we decided to forgive and forget andtried again 2 weeks later. This time we decided to try close to 9pm. This time the reply came even before we managed to put the phone down and were treated to a very friendly customer service experience.

Taste: For RM89, you’re treated to a box of 6 delicious scones (Truffle, Chocolate Chip and Matcha) and 2 bottles of coffee of your choice. We were impressed with the packaging of both the scones and the coffee. What we loved even more was the friendly message written on the packaging with a personalised note. The scones came absolutely intact thanks to the solid cardboard box which protected them from any possible unfortunate event the rider puts its through. When we opened the box, there was barely much aroma coming from the scones but the moment we sank our teeth into the scones, all was forgotten. Very extraordinarily buttery and smooth texture, not too dry and bursting with flavours which was complemented well with the accompanying clotted cream.

The coffees were extreme aromatic and provided us with an explosion of flavours with an awesome hit of caffeine the moment they entered our mouth. They even arrived in a foil bag which kept them fairly cool.

Although on the surface they may seem a little pricy, they were worth the price tag they carried.
