Restaurant Review : Damansara Uptown Hokkien Mee

Hokkien Mee

My Original Published Article on Eater : 38 Places To Eat in Kuala Lumpur 2022

Pork Soup

This restaurant is a stone throw away from the famous Village Nasi Lemak which I covered earlier. This restaurant is renown for its Hokkien Mee. Unlike the Singapore variant, this has dark and sweet sauce giving the dish a much darker colour with a hint of smokey flavour.

Stir Fried Cabbage

Most important is the unctuous slices of pork lard which has been fried to a crispy golden brown and usually cooked with the dish. My personal favourite side dishes are the juicy fried chicken wings or a steaming hot bowl of pork soup with cabbages and a sprinkle of spring onions which can be ordered as a side to compliment the dish.

If you do visit especially during peak hours you might want to park at the neighbouring Starling Mall and take a stroll over as finding a parking lot in front of the restaurant might be a little tricky.
