Relax on Bimini Islands while the shop is running automatically
That was the brave dream and future business vision of Bmini’s founders. Seems unrealistic? Read the story about two friends who managed to transform their passion for design into long-run business and original love brand’s distributor.
I found myself in an enormous baby-boom time period when almost all of my friends and university school mates were expecting or having kids. It’s a beautiful time when people start family lives, try to build households with a warm atmosphere and get ready for growing the little humans. And it’s not a coincidence that first toys help to build human’s characters.
This ideas bring me to our customers — Bmini — distributors of beautiful and functional toys, clothes and furniture.
Bmini was founded three years ago in Leuven (Belgium) by Kris and Bart, both fathers of three children. As a design lovers, they couldn’t stand all the awful coloured, plastic toys and furniture that clutters beautiful contemporary design homes. Their mission was and still is to select and sell products for children that are pleasing to the eye and could even make your home look nicer.
“There are so many fun things for children and yet buy many moms and dad’s furniture, toys and accessories that are not as beautiful, educational, inspirational, useful or just as great as they could be!” — Kris, Bmini
They believe they can change the environment and quality of (kids) lives and also fill this gap on the market, thus they decided to focus on beautiful, unique and functional products for children.
Bmini collection is selected from loads of designers and brands popular mostly in northern Europe. Most of the toys and clothes are simple-looking, made of natural materials and inspired by nature itself. The toys are safe, long-lasting, increasing children’s creativity and motorical skills.
How to get from Bmini to Bimini?
After Kris and Bart established the desired stage of their business, they started to search for some ways to improve and automate their internal processes with one final (but perhaps unrealistic) goal in mind: relax on Bimini Island (westernmost district of Bahamas, located 80 km due east of Miami) while their shop is running automatically.
“To be able to automate and optimize, you need reliable and easy-to-use data to work with. Also good reports so that you can check back sales deviations after you return from your vacation. Thus we found the support in MonkeyData analytics app.”
What are the most important areas for optimizing and setting up the automated processes?
1. Smooth shipping
Bmini understands the trend of fast shipping to the customers. When the merchant is not able to deliver within 24 hours since the order is placed in the shopping cart, it’s likely to lose the business. Bmini keeps maximum 3 days delivery when it comes to international shipping and if the order is placed up to 10 PM from Belgium and the Netherlands, the items are delivered the next day.
Order processing time dashboard helps them to track the average time period between receipt of an order and changing its status to “completed”.
2. Effective timing of customer support
Thanks to Orders by days and Orders by hours dashboards, Bmini team can clearly see the busiest hours when is necessary to have customer support ready to help. It also helps to plan the promotions and campaigns with higher probability to reach the audience.
3. Regular automated reports
Reports from MonkeyData have been the key automation feature for Bmini. By choosing which dashboard(s) they wish to report from, Bmini is able to get a regular report on their business metrics. This allows them to see their business progress without having to work through Google Analytics and export a report manually, thus saving them substantial amounts of time.
“MonkeyData gives us a quick overview of the key metrics with the ability to dive further into detail when needed. It’s a massive improvement compared to the jungle of Google Analytics where you need a university degree and Phd to find what you’re looking for.“ — Kris, Bmini
And how is your business doing during your vacation?
Dedicating your life to your business is not a reason to skip the vacation. Oppositely, you also need to relax, find new inspiration and visit the places you dream about — as Kris and Bart from Bmini.
Optimizing and automating your business activities makes your life easier.
Enjoy your vacation and your family.
