While Indians may think that the huge population is definitely a crisis that needs be taken care of by some sort of reform, from a business point of view it’s a utopia to start a business. Businessmen tend to take advantage of India being the biggest democracy in the world as with that tag come many different personalities, different needs, different backgrounds, different cultures, different financial situations, and a lot more to choose from for the businessmen to set as their target. As the youth population is at its peak compared to the yesteryear with 50% of the population below the age of 25, the current business trend that is taking over the nation like a storm is education. With the high number of students and hence high demand for institutes, the competition has become fierce to get into a government school or college because of which many of the students who are left behind have to look for alternatives to study. Businessmen have seen this as an opportunity to make money and hence are investing heavily on making schools, after which they plan to set the fees on a high range once the school has become well-known to compensate for the construction costs as well as making huge profits. But what is happening to the quality of education?

The amount of schools and colleges that are showing up are on a all time high, each of them claiming quality teachers, classes and education. Though only a very tiny amount of those schools or institutes actually provide the quality environment for education. Schools and institutes tend to set the fees lower at the beginning to lure their customers and keep on getting as many students as possible admitted. As a result a few universities end up having up to 32 sections just for one stream, with each section consisting of about 60–70 students. How can we call this a quality environment for a student with classes being packed just for the sole purpose of profit? How will 70 students at once learn everything being taught at the same pace? Do the institutes take for granted that all children are the same and they have same way of doing things? Is any student even getting two minutes of attention in the class? These are some questions that the parents do not think of asking the institutes because all they think of is their child graduating with decent merits so they get placed or get a job in a well-reputed company. In the end the students end up with very little amount of knowledge because of not only the lack of attention provided to them, but also because of the method of learning as they become experts in rote learning by the time they graduate. This is why big firms like Capgemini have stated that the Indian graduates are not employable because they do not have the basic skills due to lack of proper training. This is why we have ended up with a bizarre fact that 93% of the graduates are unemployable, a shocking and devastating percentage.

Monkpedia is a startup service that provides tech educational service in the form of home tuition at affordable rates. We know what students go through because we have gone through the same things, and we understand that every student has their own pace and methods of learning. In our views no student is stupid, every students has their own strengths and weaknesses and their own talent that simply needs to be nurtured by the right mentor. And that is what Monkpedia aims to deliver, the right fit mentor to your child that will guide them on the right path to the glory they desire. We are only giving the youth wings; it is up to them to decide where they want to fly. We believe that education is no ‘dhandaa’ either, and that every child has the right to quality education which is why our rates are significantly cheaper compared to other services. We are not looking for great turnovers or huge net profits; we are looking at what’s best for the future of the students of next generation. In Monkpedia you will find a community that is all about not just educating about contents of syllabus, but also about general knowledge, current events, and few out-of-the-box stuff such as critical thinking, analyzing and evaluation, creative activities, practicality, etc.

If we have a look at the value of any graduate or post-graduate degree and compare its value to a decade before, it has significantly deteriorated with the quantity of institutes that are being built within each other’s distance range. These institutes fool the parents and the students by advertising on social media, TV channels and newspapers stating facts about themselves that are far from true. We along with many other students have fallen victims to this corrupt system. Looking at the employment percentage of the current graduates, we do not want students currently in school to follow our path, which is why we are providing a service for the students that no generation in this nation has had before. For us, students’ dreams are our mission and we strive for perfection for that mission because we want to bring a change for the good of the country and its people.
