Hi, my name is Deborah, I’m a Product Marketing & Ops Intern at Mono.

At Mono we’re on a mission to help internet businesses in Africa access their customers’ data in the easiest and fastest ways possible.

In order to do this and build a sustainable future of financial data infrastructure in Africa we need to ensure we put privacy first.

Today I’ll be walking you through how we handle your data and what we
are doing to make sure you have control over your data as end user.

No Consent, No Access

We only share your data with your consent. Without your permission via the Mono connect widget we will never share your data and we don’t monetise your data either by say selling or renting it to third parties.

The kind of data you can share

With your consent, apps that require your financial data can securely execute this via Mono. The kind of data shared consist of the following:

  • Account Holder Information
  • Account Balances
  • Transactions Data
  • Income Data
  • Credits and Debits

Control who accesses your financial data

In the coming weeks, we’ll be launching a product to enable end users to revoke consent given to apps they’ve connected their financial accounts with. In a click of a button you can rescind access and delete data stored in Mono’s systems. This will give you complete control over which apps have access to your data. Keep an eye on this announcement.
