Last month, we launched our new product. token.com is currently live in Brazil, offering users a fun and simple way to explore the token universe. Created to help anyone access the benefits of tokenization, our product focuses on creating an intuitive user experience that abstracts all of the complexities commonly associated with tokens, DeFi, and cryptocurrency technology. One of the ways we are hoping to make the token universe more accessible is by launching curated groups of tokens called Collections. Within each Collection, tokens are represented as Cards. This piece explains how Collections and Cards work.

Disclaimer: Investing in cryptoassets is risky. Due to the volatile nature of the cryptocurrency market, investors run the risk of losing their funds when they make an investment. Returns from cryptoasset investing are not guaranteed, therefore users should always be aware of the risks.

Introducing Collections and Cards

token.com offers an accessible way to discover tokens through the concept of Collections and Cards. By launching Collections, we are aiming to provide our customers with a comprehensive overview of the token universe. Collections cover every key facet of the token world and each one is curated to feature the most important projects within each niche. In our Collections, token Cards provide valuable insights into each token.

As the token economy has grown, thousands of new tokens have emerged. In our market research, we’ve found that many newer users are overwhelmed by the sheer volume of tokens on the market. The aim of our Collections and Cards is to help educate our customers and ultimately empower them to make informed investment decisions.

The initial rollout

We launched with 10 Collections that represent the most important elements of the token universe. One of them focuses on Crypto Giants such as Bitcoin and Solana, while another compiles DeFi Blue Chips like Uniswap and MakerDAO. Our first Collections also explore the Ethereum Ecosystem, Ethereum competitors, NFTs, projects we believe in with high upside potential, and much more.

While the growth of the token universe has led to increased interest in niches like DeFi and NFTs, many people still struggle with identifying the most important projects or finding the time to research what each one does. Our team has spent time researching the market so that our Collections feature only the most relevant tokens. Our Cards help explain tokens in an accessible way without overloading the reader with information.

On the horizon

Although we launched with a set number of Collections applying to core areas of the token world, our vision for the product is to expand our offering as the token economy grows. By the end of the decade, tokenization will have created ways to invest in assets that were previously unimaginable. While there are thousands of tokens available today, it’s likely that there will be millions in the future.

token.com plans to become the go-to portal to the limitless possibilities of tokenization. We want to showcase all of the most important developments and leading projects in this fast-moving economy so that everyone can benefit from the opportunities available through tokenization. And we also plan to create a fully immersive social experience: in addition to curating our own lists of tokens, we’ll invite customers to present their own ideas on the most important aspects of the token economy. Similar to how friends share Spotify playlists for music recommendations today, we believe that we are heading towards a world where people make investments in line with their interests and share them with everyone they know. You can read more about our plans in this piece covering the main talking points from our token.com Community AMA session.

Tokenization will create the most profound change the world has seen since the birth of the Internet. But it’s become clear that new users face a steep learning curve when they first step into the space. By creating focused Collections and Cards, token.com makes entering the token economy easier than ever before.
