Podcast: What’s The Deal With Placemaking? — with Lorne Daniel
Placemaking is becomming a powerful movement for cities around the world. Placemaking is the process through which we work together to shape our public space into places people actually want to be. More than just designing spaces, Placemaking brings together diverse people to improve a community’s cultural, economic, social and ecological situation.
A group that is on the cutting edge of this movement is the Greater Victoria Placemaking Network. Founded by Lorne Daniel, the network has initiated some awesome projects which include the little free libraries, living streets, and a pop up bicycle lane.
In this podcast Lorne discusses the importance of Placemaking in our cities and why it’s so important to create places that don’t suck.
