High in the Holy Land

We’re walking through a market place in Jerusalem and surrounded by good-humored chaos. There’s a metal ceiling above us that’s angled into the shape of a tube. It looks as though it was repurposed. Maybe it was used in the military, or maybe a sewer. Tough to say — Israel does take pride in its sewage treatment after all. It’s an odd ceiling. It gives the marketplace that we’re cautiously…
