On a crisp autumn day, there were animal tracks on the farm and the tracks led to the sheep enclosure on that day two sheep disappeared. The same thing happened the next day. Mr. Brown, the farm owner, was concerned about the disappearances of his sheep. So, he upgraded the security around the sheep’s paddock by putting iron spikes on the fence. But the very next day the sheep thief struck again. So, Franky, Mr. Brown’s son, took it upon himself to solve the mystery of the animal tracks.

Franky had already deduced that the animal's tracks were obviously related to the missing sheep. So, he did what any detective would do: he observed the crime scene. After snooping around the farm and in the sheep’s paddock, Franky spotted a trail of blood. Franky had found another lead to help solve the mystery of the animal's tracks. He followed the trail of blood to the forest near the farm. Mr. Brown had told Franky to never go into the forest near the farm because he might get lost. Franky walked into the forest hoping his father will forgive his actions. He had to do whatever he could with his father’s best interests at heart.

Franky followed the trail of blood into the forest. It led him deep into the forest. It was so deep that if it were not for that trail Franky would have been lost and would not have been able to find his way back to the farm. The trail of blood led Franky right in front of a bush that was surrounded by trees and stopped. Franky wondered where could the culprit have gone. He wandered near where the trail stopped when Franky accidentally tripped over a rock as he was pacing back and forth and landed on the bush. When he landed in the bush, he saw a cave. It was a great place to hide and eat some sheep. Franky got off the bush and dusted himself off. After that, he rushed towards the cave that he had just found in hopes of finding the animal responsible for stealing his father’s sheep.

Franky cautiously went up to the cave. Just as he was about to step into the cave, a silhouette appeared. A low growl escaped from its mouth as a cautionary warning. Franky stepped back and the silhouette stepped into the light. A wolf appeared! The wolf appeared to be limping. There was something stuck in the wolf’s paw.

Franky wanted to help. He put his hand out and slowly moved towards the wolf. The wolf emitted a low growl but stayed still. Franky fearlessly took the wolf’s paw in his hand and when he got a closer look at the paw Franky could see there was a thorn stuck to it. He gently pulled the thorn out of the wolf’s paw. After Franky pulled the thorn out of the wolf’s paw there was a soft yelp behind the wolf. That soft yelp came from a wolf pup. The wolf was very obviously a mother and had to steal the food to help feed her offspring. The wolf bent its head down as a thank you for removing the thorn from its paw and walked back into its cave with its child.

Franky didn’t want to test his luck further! With the mystery solved, Franky got up and ran home as fast as he could to tell his father about his discovery.
