Monstereos.io on Token Pocket on iOS

This is a quick guide on how to play Monstereos on your Mobile. We will start by getting our keys ready and then use those with one of the apps presented below with instructions for setting up each.

Get your Keys ready:

There are two popular options to choose from. The first and simpler one is to use you active permission to play on mobile. The second one is to use a custom games permission which takes a few more steps to set up, but is more secure.

Note: You wont be able to transfer funds with the games permission, which means that you wont be able to do ingame purchases when playing on your mobile phone.

If you chose to simply use your active Permission, you can skip to the next section.
If you want to play it safe and use the games permission go to our step by step instruction on how to set up a custom permission and follow the 5 steps presented.

Set up your App:

Below are some options for Apps you can choose from depending on your mobile’s Operating System. If you have Android (Samsung, Huawai etc.) you can choose between TokenPocket and Scatter. If you run iOS (iPhone, iPod, iPad) you can use Token Pocket.

Token Pocket (iOS & Android)

TokenPocket in Appstore

TokenPocket — trusted wallet download from their website or the AppStore

The setup is designed pretty self explanatory, you just have to create a wallet with your private key and the app will handle the rest for you. So we will go over each step for creating your wallet and show how to open monstereos.io from within the app.

  • Install Token Pocket
  • If the App appears in a language you dont prefer check your iPhone Settings -> General -> Language&Region and adjust your priorities
  • After starting TokenPocket, click on Import Wallet and choose EOS as Blockchain Foundation
  • enter the private key (starting with “5”) from your games permission or your active permission (depending on which option you chose in the beginning)
  • fill in the remaining fields and hit Start Importing
  • The App will list all accounts that are linked to the key you entered. If none are found, make sure you made no mistake when entering the Private Key
  • choose the account(s) you would like to import and continue
  • now to play, go to Discover at the bottom and search for monstereos
  • create yourself a new monster or feed your existing ones :)

Scatter (Android)

Search for GetScatter in the Google Playstore

  • install and open Scatter
  • Press GET STARTED
  • click on FRESH SCATTER
  • enter a PIN
  • click on “Add new Account”
Add new Account
  • as Keypair Name you can enter games like me
  • below enter the private key (starting with “5”) from your games permission or your active permission (depending on which option you chose in the beginning)
  • if you entered your private key without mistake, scatter will show you the matching public key and you can hit save on the top right corner

you should now see EOS-games listed in the accounts tap.

  • click on your EOS-games Account
  • in the next screen hit FIND ACCOUNTS
  • tapping your account will add it to the Linked Accounts and you are ready to play monstereos
  • open monstereos.io in your phone’s internet browser (I am using Google Chrome because Mozilla Firefox wouldn’t load monstereos.io correctly)
  • click on the SIGN IN Button in the top right corner
Scatter Notification after using the SIGN IN Button
  • Accept the App Link Request for Scatter in your Notifications
  • Clicking on SIGN IN again will add another Notification “Identity Request”
  • clicking on that Notification brings you back to scatter where you have to answer this Identity Request by clicking on “MyFirstIdentity” and then selecting your account
  • now simply go back to your browser and create yourself a new monster or feed your existing ones :)

Every action (feeding, attacking etc) you want to perform will make a Signature Request pop up in your Notifications, which you have to accept in order to perform the action and send it to the network.

If you logged out and want to log back in you just have to repeat those last three steps (SIGN IN -> choose your account in scatter Identity Request -> go back to browser)
