My Week
A week in the life of …….
This week begins early on a glorious Monday morning
I woke from a deep sleep with a heart full of gratitude,
The sun is shining with a predicted high of 24 degrees
I don’t work Mondays so I have a day to write in solitude.
Suddenly before I know it, Tuesday morning is dawning
My plan is to work from home, a long ten hours of toil,
This doesn’t leave many hours free for some “me” time
So I decide to enjoy a long relaxing bath in aromatic oil.
Wednesday is suddenly here and kicking down my door
In an effort to remind me of plans for a long lunch date,
A busy morning spent entering data into spreadsheets
Before my son escorts me to a lunch, I fully appreciate.
Later I am dozing off to sleep but in no hurry to wake
Because the sunrise would mean it’s Thursday morning,
The busiest day of my week, another long twelve hours
With high demands on my time with little to no warning.
After work, it’s time for dinner, a shower, and crash in bed
Too exhausted from my busy day to be good company…
