The Lost Artifact Part V

Many participated in the Moonriver NFT Quest, and some recovered the lost artifacts, sacrificing them to our Twitter DMs in pursuit of a greater treasure. The reward will be of great utility, but you may need to understand the history of this relic to fully appreciate its value…

Nearby, one warrior noticed a treasure chest. Had it been there all along? Upon approach, the Moonwarriors saw that there were many chains wrapped around the chest. As the brave warriors were also builders, they had brought with them a hammer and an ax. Brandishing their tools with great strength and skill, they shattered the chains and collected the broken pieces. These chains could come in handy later.

The Moonwarriors eagerly rushed to open the chest, now freed of its chains. Inside they found a jewel and an intact bottle of what appeared to be champagne. Besides that, there were beans. Hundred of hard dried beans from an unknown plant. The first warrior collected the items and the remaining warriors each grabbed a handful of beans.

Starving now, some warriors tried to eat the beans. Others put them in holed pockets, leaving a trail back to the chest as the beans shook free with the vibration of their steps. Only one warrior held his beans fast in his hand, protecting them with care.

As they continued, the terrain changed from sand to oddly shaped rocks. The landscape was block-like in a way the Moonwarriors had never seen before. They were getting closer.

Stumbling along, the warriors approached a wall of rock blocks that seemed insurmountable. The block cliff was sheer and high, stretching as far across the horizon as they could see. The warriors rested as they contemplated how to overcome this new obstacle. To retrace their steps would cost precious time and the river ran straight into the wall indicating this was the way they needed to go. After hours of fruitless attempts to climb the wall, the warriors gave up and fell asleep one by one.

As the hours wore on, the warrior with the beans still safe in his fist dropped off to sleep. As his breathing evened and his sleep deepened, his grip also loosened. One of the beans tumbled down the bank, falling into the river.
