Moonriver Quest Recap
Quest 1 & 2
Long Ago
The Sungod stole the Golden Artifact from the people of Moonriver Valley. The people put up a fight, but the Sungod scorched the earth, causing the Moonriver people to fall into a deep sleep for ages.
Sometime Later
One day, the half-man-half-wolf Moonwolf awakened by a mooncalling to embrace the chaos of the desolate world. He journeyed to a great mountain. He climbed it and howled. The moon and a river broke free from the mountain, and a phoenix flew out. The Moonwolf fell into the water and drank it. As the moon rose, it brought about the regrowth of the land. The Moonriver flowed back to the valley. The Moonwolf was pulled into a whirlpool and disappeared.
Even Later
The Moonriver flowed back to Moonriver Valley and woke up the Moonwarriors from their unnaturally long sleep. These are the Moonwarriors and future Champions who set out to retrieve the Golden Artifact from the Sungod. They followed the Moonriver toward the mountain and faced many trials. The Moonwarriors shared a dream about the Moonwolf and knew what to do.
When they arrived at the mountain they remembered the Moonwolf’s sacrifice. They threw the items collected from their journey into the crevice and crossed the bridge that appeared. The phoenix returned to reveal a sword that the Moonwarriors used to break the golden chains that held the never-sleeping dragon prisoner to the Sungod. The now Moonriver Champions retrieved the Golden Artifact and restored the balance between light and dark, day and night.
The Champions began their journey home.
Recently
The Moonwarriors arrived home chanting a phrase. The people of Moonriver Valley were awake, rebuilding their community. Only the strong survived. The Moonscientists continued their research while they waited for the Moonwarriors. The Artifact was a key piece in this endeavor.
The warriors brought back with them a flock of Kusama birds the Sungod had received as a sacrifice from the people of Moonriver Valley, which were set free when he was defeated.
They also brought home the Moonrock. When the Golden Voice sang the phrase, a Kusama bird assembled the stone. It glowed and spread out before them a Feast for the Champions.
Now
Since the Champion’s Feast, the Moonwarriors have been restless, relentlessly calling to the gods for another mission. They were built to fight, not to farm and wait.
With the return of The Artifact and the completion of the Moonstone, the Moonriver Valley team of elite scientists had made progress in developing the technology that would change their world.
For the first time, the Moonscientists revealed their goal: To connect the earth and all the planets so that the Moonriver people could reunite with their ancestors in the stars.
The Moonwarriors and Champions would be needed once more.
