I joined Moonwalk for a 100 days startup sprint in Oslo on the mission to reinvent learning, sounds very ambitious? It sure was, but what happened was even more incredible than the mission — highly motivated passionate people working together to change the world, incredibly creating 9 startups!
100 Days To Reinvent Learning
We, the team of passionate people named as Moonwalk Astronauts, created 9 startup companies each solving a challenge within today’s learning world. This means how to heal the pains of all the people involved in learning.
I myself had through my education questioned if school is actually teaching us what we need to learn in our own individual lives, and found out that the life school is preparing us for is an outdated one-size-fits-all one. No thank you! I later found my learning style, going from project to project earning lots of hands-on experience, which led me to Moonwalk, a very exciting part of my learning journey.
To The Moon!
When joining this space themed startup adventure you will discover that all you have ever been told about starting a business, does not have to be true for you. I learned:
- A company is merely a tool to achieve greatness for the world and yourself, and to realize your passion. What really matters is who you are creating your business for and why.
- Ideas are useless if you don’t start with the challenge you want to solve.
- Solving challenges is better with a team. More brainpower equals more progress.
Moonwalk is using a structured process combining the best of startup know-how, turning it into simple teamwork-friendly assignments that will make you connect the dots between purpose, product and revenue.
Trust The Process
Step-by-step in 7 weekend work sessions we went from identifying what are the big challenges within learning, and who are the people in pain — then created ideas for solutions that turned into official startups. The whole process is based on working task by task towards deadlines, not looking back. In the beginning it was quite challenging to see the whole picture when you only focus on one single task at a time, but when you start seeing the results of all the work it is amazingly rewarding.
Create Your Growth Companies In 400 Days
After 100 days with Moonwalk I have not only learned much about entrepreneurship, and teamwork together with amazing people, I have also earned ownership and shares to a portfolio of startups, some of which will turn into growth companies.
So what is next? The adventure has just begun! 100 days are past, now begins another 100 days — in a total of 400 days to create growth companies solving 1 billion+ people challenges. I am ready for semester #02, where we will prove the business model of the startups we have created — designing the customer, designing the product and the revenue model.
