Presenting: Moonwalk Learning Pilot #1
My name is Sven Richard — your proud and passionate pilot of the Moonwalk Learning program. I look forward to changing the way we learn in 100 days together with a great group of bright minds!
I’m an excited entrepreneur by heart, but a risk-averse, rational career man by mind. I’ve always been attracted by everything new, different and world-changing, and I specialized in Innovation and Entrepreneurship at university. However, I never had the guts to make the jump into the startup scene. How would I sustain the level of comfort I’m used to? How would I have time for my family? What if I failed? Ah, let’s play it safe!
So I’ve worked six years as a management consultant and have learned a lot about managing huge projects, creating value for big companies and optimizing public sector spending. It’s been a great journey, and I enjoy seeing the results of hard work and quality focus.
When I heard about Moonwalk about two years ago, I was instantly intrigued. This was an opportunity to explore my entrepreneurial side and start growth companies. This was an opportunity to enter the gates of the startup and innovation community, and add unique, skilled and interesting people to my network. This was my opportunity to make a positive impact on the world. Without sacrificing my job security, my family life or my hobbies, I could take part in something which could be something to tell my grandkids about: “Yeah, your granddad founded that!”
I signed up as an Innovator because I wanted to see what this was about. It was great that I could follow the program online, learn the unique methodology, use best practice tools for business modelling and take part in a network brimming with interesting thoughts and insights — always willing to share. Seeing that we can achieve so much more than we think by pooling our resources and using structure to fuel our creativity was truly eye opening.
So now I want to share what I have learned with you. I want to learn even more about how innovation works and how to create something awesome together. I want to get to know even more interesting and inspiring people. And I want to take on one of the great challenges: Reinventing Education.

PS: I’ve still got my management consulting job (where I now advise companies on innovation), and time for my family and hobbies.
