Mastering the keyboard is essential for getting the most out of Moqups Beta. So here’s a handy list of all shortcuts you can use:

Selection

⌘A selects all objects on stage. Esc deselects all objects.

⌘D duplicates the selected objects. ⌫ (Backspace) deletes the selected objects.

Arrow keys move the selection in 1px increments. ⇧ + Arrow keys move the selection in 10px increments. ⌥ + Arrow keys duplicate the selected objects and move the duplicate objects.

⌘G groups the selected objects. If the objects are already groups, it ungroups them. ⌘L locks the selected objects. If the objects are already locked, it unlocks them.

⌘↑ brings forward the selected objects. ↓ sends backwards the selected objects. ⌘⇧↑ brings to front the selected objects. ⌘⇧↓ sends to back the selected objects.

Tools

⌘C copies the selected objects. ⌘X cuts the selected objects. ⌘V pastes the selected objects. ⌘⇧V pastes the selected objects in place.

⌥C copies the selected object’s styles. ⌥V applies the style you just copied on the selected objects.

⇧X swaps the fill and stroke colors on selected objects.

⌘Z undoes the last action. Either ⌘Y or ⌘⇧Z redoes the last undone action.

⌘ Plus zooms in. ⌘ Minus zooms out. ⌘ Zero zooms to 100% percent.

⌘⌥R toggles the Rulers. ⌘; toggles the Custom guides. ⌘’ toggles the Paper grid. ⌘⇧’ toggles the Layout grid.

⌘K creates a Hotspot. ⌘⇧K creates hotspots for each selected object.

⌘F focuses the search box in the left sidebar, allowing you to filter stencils, icons, pages and templates.

Project

⌘S saves the project. ⌘⇧S saves a copy of the project under a different name. ⌘⌥X opens up the Export dialog. ⌘⇧P previews the project.

⌘O opens a list of your projects.

That’s about it, folks! If you’re missing any favourite shortcuts, let us know in the comments and I’m sure we can figure something out.

In the next instalment I’ll show you some neat tricks for working the selection with your mouse, trackpad, mind-controlled pointing device or whatever kids these days use to move a cursor on a screen.
