Stop worrying… start living.

Let me start by asking you, how often do you think? You’re probably thinking, “What a stupid question is that…” but here’s the point I’m trying to make.

We’re always thinking!

Sometimes we don’t know when to hit the reset button and just relax. Don’t get me wrong… thinking is vital for many things such as career work, planning, survival, etc… but sometimes we can OVERTHINK. By doing this, we lead ourselves to stress, anxiety, worry, and depression. Anxiety is the constant thinking of the future and depression is the constant thinking of the past. This is how most of us live our lives! We’re never truly in the present moment and enjoy each and every second.

What’s the solution then Dilan? How can I stop myself from overthinking?

The key is to start becoming aware that you’re overthinking. Once we shift our focus away from the outer and instead towards the inner, we can become grounded in the present moment and just be. When we’re truly present and mindful of this exact moment we're in, all problems and worry go out the window. The realization comes in that we are constantly creating our reality in our own minds and we’ve been allowing that little voice in our head to run the show. We need to take the reigns back and see we’re in control of how we perceive our lives to be.

Here are some perspectives to start off with:

  1. No one is really thinking about you. They’re too busy focused on themselves.
  2. The past and the future don’t exist. Time is just an illusion and all we ever will have is the present moment.
  3. Your brain is always looking for evidence to confirm what you have told it.

Now go out there and take a break from all your worries because they don't exist! It’s all in your head!
