Social media sites are all about the competition with other sites about who is using which site more. Facebook is the leader of social media users. Twitter is second but not even close to the numbers that Facebook has. So of those users, they also want to make sure that those people who have Facebook or Twitter are continuing to get on and update there accounts. There are many ways that social media sites will make you want to get back on your profile. One of those is they can warn you if your account is so dormant, they will terminate your account. This will get people to think of all those things they have on there profile and will usually get them to reactive there log in.

So what other ways can social media sites get people back on the site? Well when you sign up for a social media site, you use a email for the sign up. Unless you use a different email than the one you used to sign up for the majority of your social media accounts, you will continue to get emails weekly even sometimes everyday. These emails will tell you things that are happening with you account when you are away from it. It can say something like “You grandmother posted something on your page, send something back”. They will do this because it can make you feel bad when you do not repost to your grandmother. Another example would be like Facebook telling you that one of your good buddies is in a relationship. It will make you want to sign in and check who that friend is in a relationship with.

So there are so many ways that social media gets its users to come back to logging in on the social media site. They have mastered the ways of keeping loyal users. That is why social media sites like Twitter, Facebook and Instagram are so popular and almost everyone continues to use them today. They almost make it impossible to keep it out of your life.
