If you’ve ever been in a college class, you should know that most of them range from 70–200 students. Meaning, you may not know everyone in there or not even a single person. Making it hard to communicate about class assignments, or to communicate to get together for group projects.

In 2010, the app ‘Group Me’ was founded. Group Me is basically an app solely for group messaging, that anyone can join. Once you’re in the group message, you can name it, add someone, or even take someone out of the group message. The app can really be used for just about anything, but what students benefit most from it is when there are group messages for the classes they’re taking.

For example, if you get assigned a group project with random people, you don’t have to worry about giving out your phone number when you can just add everyone to one specific group message on the app that’s only for the project. It’s a lot easier to go to an app that’s just for group messaging, scroll down to the name of the group message you need, and ask the question or discuss what you need to. Also, if you don’t know anyone in your class but have a question about when something is due, if you’re in the group message for the class you can ask it in there and someone will most likely answer it.
