Can writers take anything of value from this oft quoted advice

Ernest Hemingway has been credited with having said, “Write drunk, edit sober,” despite there being no evidence to corroborate this. In fact, according to Quote Investigator, Hemingway vehemently denied writing while under the influence of alcohol.
