#WENGEROUT: and I repeat this is not a drill.

The Invincibles. 3 Premier Leagues. 7 FA Cups. Emirates Stadium. The shocking performance against Manchester City in the Carabao Cup saw Arsenal lose 3–0. Yes, Manchester City is dominating the league, and are a good team, but with the way Arsenal played they should have been lucky to even be in the final. This has been the mentality with Arsenal in big games, “where just lucky to be here”. Arsenal, has played 21 games against the “Top 6” clubs since the 2013/14 season and has only grabbed 6 out of a possible 63 points. There is no way possible to win the Premier League without winning those big games. These types of performances must fall back on the manager who is responsible for putting the team in the best possible position to win. He’s been the captain of this ship for 21 years, and because been in charge for so long he has become blind to how fast the ship is sinking.

Losing out on possibly the best chance of a title this decade to Leicester City you’d think it couldn’t get worse. After missing out on top 4 for the first time in 20 years on the last day of the season you’d think it couldn’t get worse. Sadly, the way this season is heading, it will only get worse, and as of now it looks to be heading that way. It’s only February, but Arsenal is one game away from losing as many as AsrseneWenger has lost in a whole season since 2005. Continuing this path with Wenger might see Arsenal go to a point of no return. After, the defeat on Sunday, Champion’s League qualification rest on them winning Europa League. Arsenal’s next opponent in Europa League is AC Milan with this making it the fourth time they’ve played each other in European competition and the first time since 2012. Currently, AC Milan are 13 games unbeaten since ex-player Gennaro Gattuso took charge. Depending, how Arsenal does against them, the Arsenal board might be inclined to sack Wenger before the end of the season as well.

Domestically, Arsenal is in sixth place, and about 10 points away from fourth. I mean look at Antonio Conte, who won Chelsea the Premier League in his first season in England. Now, with Chelsea well off of their winning path from last season Conte’s been getting “it’s time for you to go” shouts from fans all season. That ruthlessness is what Arsenal has been lacking for years. Every club in the top 6 has made a managerial change, and it has done wonders for the club. Arsenal would be late to the party, but imagine if a squad can still perform for Wenger, then imagine what they can do for another promising modern manager. Listen, Wenger’s status is permanent, he’ll forever be the greatest manager Arsenal will ever have. He’ll always be written in Premier League history as the only manager to go a whole league season undefeated. No one can take those facts/stats away from him. Unfortunately, the longer he stays the more dents and bruises he’ll have on his legacy.
