Morning Musing №104: Sounds Stem Silence

On the nature of sound

Even today I came to meet myself,

Like every morning,

I sit motionless on the planet.

I wait for the void to speak.

A decrepit building hides the horizon;

The purest sky rises

Despite a crumbling, black wall.

Even today it sings about the now-forgotten darkness.

I listen, listen, listen,

My open eyes resting on the absence,

The ten, one hundred, one thousand chirps.

Every sound not requested

Is born and fades, fades, fades,

Returning to silence,

The sounds

To silence.
