If You Look Close, There Are Many Seasons In The Desert

I spy my morning acquaintance, the black lizard, poking her head out from between a crack in the concrete wall surrounding my backyard. I believe she is a Western Fence Lizard. Darting bird silhouettes soaring across the ground prevent her from exploring further, though I’m sure the lure of warm sun beckons…
