You can pick your friends but not your neighbors

In a cohousing community, neighbors perform much of the light-duty maintenance like shoveling snow.

Over the years, I’ve met thousands of people and worked in various capacities with hundreds. Out of all those, two have rubbed me the wrong way since 2009, and they happen to be my neighbors.

Being a good neighbor is never having to say you’re sorry, to paraphrase Jennifer Cavelleri in Love Story.
