IMPORTANT: New Morpheus.Network Token Smart Contract

One of the magic pieces of a blockchain is that it is immutable; once a block has been written to a blockchain or once a smart contract has been deployed, it can never be modified or deleted.

However, from time to time, smart contracts need to be updated with new code. How can this be done on an immutable blockchain? By deploying a brand new smart contract!

A new smart contract is an opportunity to update the code, fix bugs and incorporate new best practices. Morpheus.Network will be taking that action starting today.

Why do this now? Yesterday we became aware of a serious issue which could have a negative impact on our tokens and the community. So we’re fixing it now instead of waiting which is the safest option.

What does this mean for you? Overall not that much. The process is pretty seamless but it does require some important changes.

  1. We are getting a new token name! The old token name is MORPH. The new token name is MRPH.
  2. Your old tokens will be exchanged 1 to 1 with the new tokens. If you had 1800 of the old tokens in your wallet, you will receive 1800 of the new tokens.
  3. The exchanges need to migrate to the new smart contract. The exchanges will pause trading and will be provided with the new smart contract address. They will then resume trading with the new smart contract address. The pause will start now.
  4. Do not attempt to buy or sell MORPH tokens. Trading now may result in loss of tokens, funds and wallets blacklisted.

So what do you need to do right now? Absolutely nothing. :-) Keep your tokens safe and sound in your ERC20 wallets and you’ll soon have our latest and greatest tokens and be able to trade on exchanges just like before.

We will update this post with new information as it becomes available, as well as update our Telegram Community of course. Join us there if you are not a part of the community already!
