The robot knight was nothing without its mastermind.
But it impressed even the most ruthless of kings throughout all the land. People came to watch the robot knight fight against real knights.
The oligarchs only liked the fights because they brought in massive profit, but they hated not knowing the identity of the creator.
Naturally, the existence of the robot knight aroused both curiosity and suspicion. There were secret searches, but no one could find the mastermind.
Legends and tall tales spread, but none were close to the truth.
The mastermind hid in the shadows, controlling the movements from afar. The robot knight was simply a vessel for his machinations. He didn’t do anything too drastic, but he was growing impatient.
But one day, the robot knight was hacked by his former friend who knew a quite a bit about the code, and thus, the mastermind’s location was revealed. Against his will, the king ordered every knight to fight against him.
“Bring this coward to his knees. Slay him if you can.”
After fighting against the most qualified opponents of the land, the mastermind astonished everyone and unexpectedly won, even if he looked weaker than everyone he beat.
