About Caucaseastan

Caucaseastan is a story hub dedicated to featuring people who tell their stories. Hidden behind the iron curtain, the countries of the so-called “New East” have much more to offer than re-presented so far. Caucaseastan changes the rules, we give presence to our people, create a possibility to narrate, rather than be narrated about. Leveraging innovative tools, which democratize the practices of producing news and stories, we are showing you the Act (what took place), the Scene (background where it took place), the Agent (characters who performed it), the Agency (the means they used) and the Purpose — told by the people who have immediate experience of the situation on the ground.

Driven by responsibility to our readers, we strive to help you encounter the people and the stories on the wild side of Eurasia, the world’s emerging nexus.
