Hello, everyone in Mossland!

🚨 Recently, there have been increasing incidents of investment and refund scams involving impersonation of MossCoin.

Mossland provides all official information through official channels. Mossland does not recommend trading or using MossCoin on platforms other than official channels and certified exchanges (Upbit, Bithumb).

Please review the following information and exercise special caution to avoid harm from fake websites and phishing attempts.

🔱 Examples of Investment Scams

Contents and sites that require caution
  1. Scam involving stock reading rooms
  • When a company demands the installation of a coin wallet (app) it claims to have developed itself, asserting it as a site for the coin wallet.
  • The company’s wallet is a fake coin wallet arbitrarily created by the company rather than a commonly used blockchain wallet like MetaMask.
  • Through this fake coin wallet, they manipulate and control prices at will, leading to fraudulent activities.

2. Stock Reading Room Loss Refund Scam

  • If someone promises to compensate stock reading room losses with MossCoin.
  • They forge documents to make it seem like actual MossCoin has been pre-allocated before depositing investment funds.
  • After providing fake coin payments (showing amounts but not actually disbursing them, known as locked-up coins), they steal personal information.
  • They use this information to obtain illegal loans.
  • They deposit cash into the victim’s account.
  • Then, they request the victim to deposit the cash back to them (under the pretext of transfer taxes).
  • Finally, they block or disappear from the victim’s contact.

3. Lotto Reading Room Refund Scam

  • If someone promises to compensate lottery reading room losses with MossCoin and asks you to sign up on a site.

4. Coin Sale

  • If someone offers to sell special quantities of coins at a price lower than the current market rate, claiming to have secured the stock in advance.
  • They deceive investors by presenting false or manipulated price graphs and selling special quantities (private sales) at prices lower than those shown.

5. False Coin Purchase

  • When contacted with offers to buy coins at a higher price than the one you bought them for.

6. Locked-Up Coin Sale (Fake Coins)

  • In the case of the aforementioned sale and purchase, scammers sell coins (fake coins) that are locked up for a certain period (from weeks to years).
  • They prevent selling during the lock-up period.
  • When the lock-up period ends, they deliberately cause a crash in value and then disappear.

7. False Information about Coin Exchange Listing (Scheduled/Confirmed)

  • When contacted via KakaoTalk or text messages, claiming that a large domestic or foreign exchange is scheduled or confirmed to list a coin (with forged fake business cards or documents attached).

8. Loss Compensation from Public Institutions

  • When contacted by impersonators claiming to be from public institutions such as the Financial Supervisory Service or the Korea Consumer Agency, promising compensation for losses through a fake compensation notice.

9. Investment Fraud Response Consultation

  • Promotional posts on blogs on portal sites offering consultation for refunding victims of fraud.

10. False Advertising Using YouTube and Other Social Media

  • Videos on YouTube providing coin prospect analysis and spreading false information.
  • Promotions on YouTube and other social media channels advertising “high-profit prospect coins” and luring individuals into one-on-one chat rooms.
  • They entice investors with insufficient funds to take out loans from secondary financial institutions under the pretext of “leveraged investment” to encourage additional investments.

❗ If you receive any offers claiming to distribute or sell MossCoin, please be sure to reject them.

❗ If you receive business cards or documents impersonating Mossland employees, please contact Mossland via email to verify the authenticity (contact@moss.land).

❗ Exercise extreme caution regarding phone calls and messages requesting app installations, transfers, or personal information through link clicks.

❗ If asked to take out additional loans for investment beyond your own funds and provide personal information, please refuse and block the contact.

❗ If you receive similar offers or suspect cases related to the above, or if you have any related tips to share, please contact the police, Financial Supervisory Service, or Mossland via email (contact@moss.land).
