As you explore the world of blockchain these days, many companies are declaring their intention to adopt DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization), a form of decentralized autonomous organization, using terms like DAO transition and DAO implementation.

But what exactly is DAO? What changes with DAO?
How is the Mossland DAO different?

Aren’t you curious? 🤔
Let’s dive into your understanding of DAO and the introduction of the Mossland DAO together! 🧐

🟣What is DAO?

DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization) stands for a new form of organization or company based on blockchain technology. Unlike traditional centralized organizations, it operates through decentralized systems and smart contract agreements, featuring a distributed decision-making structure among its members.

🟣Let’s explore the key features of DAO:

1️⃣ Decentralization: DAO operates without central control, and decisions are made based on community consensus. Anyone with governance rights can participate in the community, and voting power is evenly distributed among those who contribute to the protocol.

2️⃣ Autonomy: DAO operates autonomously through automated smart contracts, enabling functionality without external interference. For instance, some DAOs can be set up to automatically disburse funds or execute decisions based on certain conditions.

3️⃣ Transparency: Due to the nature of blockchain, all transactions and decisions within DAO are publicly recorded and accessible to anyone. This enhances transparency and helps prevent misconduct.

4️⃣ Autonomous Contribution: Individuals participating in DAO can receive rewards based on their contributions, incentivizing them to engage more with the project.

DAO can be implemented on smart contract platforms like Ethereum, and currently, various DAO projects are ongoing in diverse fields. Examples include development and upgrades of blockchain projects, voting and decision-making, digital asset management, ownership and rights management of art pieces, donations, and charity projects.

However, DAO is still in its early stages, facing technological limitations, stability issues, legal challenges, and more. Thus, the future development of DAO requires further research and trial and error.

🌟So, how is Mossland implementing DAO?

⭕ What is Mossland DAO?

Mossland is a blockchain-based metaverse project that connects the real world with the virtual world, owning and operating various smart contracts and services.
Mossland DAO owns major smart contracts, NFT contracts, service servers, marketplaces, etc., related to the Mossland project, and manages the ecosystem fund of the Mossland project through a decentralized governance framework.

Mossland DAO follows a proposal process where the Mossland Foundation votes on how to distribute the ecosystem fund to promote a diverse and self-sustaining ecosystem.
Through Mossland DAO, it’s expected that Mosscoin holders can align the future of the Mossland project with their desired direction.

We intend to hard fork the ApeCoin DAO governance (https://apecoin.com/governance) to design an initial version of the Mossland DAO governance.
The Mossland team considers this to be the most ideal model among the recently designed DAO projects. Ultimately, the goal is for Mosscoin holders to operate DAO and for Mossland DAO to manage various resources, including funds of Mossland.

⭕ Why is DAO needed in the Mossland Project? / Why is DAO integration needed in the Mossland Project?

Implementing a blockchain-based metaverse and decentralizing complete control over the metaverse was one of Mossland’s significant goals.
Mosscoin holders can participate in the detailed design, development, and operation of the Mossland metaverse through Mossland DAO. Through Mossland DAO, it’s anticipated that Mosscoin holders can align the future of Mossland with their desired direction.

⭕ How does Mossland DAO operate?

Mossland DAO is implemented by the Luniverse platform and operates as a community-driven governance through the official Mossland DAO proposal process. Mosscoin holders can become members of DAO and participate in idea submission, discussions, proposal submissions, and voting.
The Mossland website provides explanations of the governance process to DAO members and utilizes various third-party solutions like Discord, Snapshot, etc., for communication among DAO members.
All proposals start as Mossland Idea Proposals (MIPs). Ideas are submitted as posts on the Discourse communication channel and need to receive confirmation from moderators that they adhere to the DAO approval guidelines before the posts become public. To post ideas or provide feedback on ideas through comments, wallet authentication for Mosscoin ownership is required.

⭕ What kinds of decisions are made in Mossland DAO?

Mossland DAO can discuss and decide on various issues, such as the use of ecosystem funds, proposals for project design/development/operation, collaboration proposals, community guidelines, and more.
For example, decisions can be made on the following items. However, proposals containing illegal activities, hate speech, explicit content, or conflicting with the values and mission of Mossland Foundation will not be reflected in the voting.

🔹 Mossland metaverse specifications and branding
🔹 Development of specific services within the metaverse
🔹 Development and operation of new services
🔹 Marketplace fees
🔹 Allocation of Mossland DAO funds (Mosscoin) for development
🔹 Replacement of board members and management members

⭕ What role does Mosscoin (MOC) play?

The consensus mechanism of Mossland DAO aims to enable Mosscoin holders to participate in decision-making through fair, transparent, and cost-effective voting.
Participation in idea submission, discussions, proposal submissions, and voting is limited to Mossland DAO members. Holding Mosscoin grants membership to DAO.
To post ideas or provide feedback on ideas through comments, wallet authentication for Mosscoin ownership is required.

⭕ Mossland Metaverse (Mosverse) and Voting Solution

Mossland’s voting solution is not only provided through the website but is also prepared to be available in the Mossland metaverse (Mossverse).
The Mosverse will implement various functionalities within buildings on the metaverse map, and the Mossland voting solution will be implemented as a voting booth within a building.

🔹 Anticipated specifications of the voting booth building
🔹 Viewing the list and details of votes
🔹 Viewing lists of closed, scheduled, and ongoing votes
🔹 Viewing details of closed, scheduled, and ongoing votes
🔹 Closed votes are indicated as closed, and the ability to view result announcements should be available for votes with published results.
🔹 Voting participation functionality
🔹 Checking if MOC is present in the wallet
🔹 Differential voting rights based on the amount of MOC held
🔹 Calling the voting functionality from the metaverse contract of Luniverse chain with MetaMask wallet integration

⭕ GENERAL GUIDELINES

1️⃣ There will be an annual DAO-wide vote by the Mossland Foundation’s BOARD to decide DAO members active in the BOARD. The purpose of the BOARD is to manage DAO proposals and serve the community’s vision. This initial board will serve for 12 months.
2️⃣ BOARD members can be removed and replaced before their term ends based on a majority vote of token holders.
3️⃣ Proposed proposals must have clear total implementation costs to move to the voting phase.
4️⃣ DAO members must search past proposals to check if the idea they want to submit has not been proposed yet.
5️⃣ If a proposed proposal directly conflicts with a proposal currently under voting, the second proposal should not proceed to voting until a decision on the first proposal is made to avoid conflicting demands for approval.
6️⃣ Proposal proposals that conflict directly with approved other proposals cannot be voted on for 3 months after the original proposal is implemented to prevent wasting community assets.
7️⃣ Proposals containing illegal activities, hate speech, explicit content, or conflicting with the mission or values of Mossland Foundation will not be reflected in the voting.

❓Has your curiosity about DAO been somewhat satisfied?

Since it’s planned for future projects in Mossland, getting acquainted with it in advance will help you adapt to the Mossland metaverse easily 😊
