Welcome to the Weekly Nugget — Most Studios Friday wrap-up, where we share nuggets of inspiration from the world of tech, branding & design.

1. Inconstant Regular

Inconstant Regular, a new dyslexia-friendly typeface designed by Norwegian illustrator and graphic designer Daniel Brokstad, serves to find a friendly compromise between dyslexia intelligibility as well as designer usability.

2. Johnnie Walker’s New Collection

Johnnie Walker has announced a new and exclusive series of Black Label bottles dubbed the “Keep Walking City Collection.” The new series features five unique bottle designs which include elaborate prints developed with AIR-INK, an ink created from air pollution by recycling carbon emissions, and used by five international artists.

3. Love Hultén’s VOC-25

Love Hultén’s VOC-25 synthesizer is based on the Axoloti Core Synth with 25 sets of plastic teeth. Each set represents a different note on the keyboard. The original design was conceived by fellow Swedish builder Simone Giertz who was inspired by the way in which we show our appreciation by clapping our hands.

4. The North Sea Jazz Festival

The North Sea Jazz Festival (NSJF) sought a fresh new look to bring the festival up to date and better reflect the diversity of its programme. Guided by custom coding, the various type elements — line-ups, dates and location — twist, flex and transform like a soundwave or an avant-garde dance move. The identity is set to be shown in motion across screens and billboards, and across posters and T-shirts.

5. Poppy’s Death & Branding

Poppy Mardall, founder and director of Poppy’s, was rebranded by creative agency Lovers. After shadowing them, the creative supergroup came up with an approach built on thoughtful communication and openness. Steering away from hushed and often un-instructive nature of many funeral brands, Lovers has chosen to incorporate illustrations.

6. HoldOn’s New Compostable Bags

Design consultancy, Derek&Eric have designed the packaging for new compostable refuse bag brand HoldOn. The bags are made from a mix of corn starch, plant-based renewables and non-toxic materials. Within weeks of disposal, the bags will break down into humus — an important part of all soils.

Have a great weekend and see you next week! 👋

Psst! If you liked some of these things then perhaps you’re our new coworker? As one of Sweden’s fastest-growing and most profitable companies, we’re on a hiring spree.
