You know what day it is — Friiiiiiday which means we are back with more exciting design trends, and inspiration that caught our teams eyes. Here are our 6 hot takes and inspiration for the week!

1. The Growing Impact of AI

In 2022, museum identities, movie posters, and artworks were all created using different AI programs – Richard Turley even used the technology to create an entire soft drink brand in his guest edit with It’s Nice That. What will happen next when AI’s time in the spotlight continues to grow? These questions are raised by &Walsh’s most recent project, Dall-E, which is also responsible for the branding of the nonprofit Isodope.

2. Topshop & Topman’s Joint New Look

Nearly two years have passed since Topshop’s downfall as a result of Arcadia’s bankruptcy. Once a fashion mecca for teens and 20-somethings, when Topshop eventually went into administration. Now following the brand’s acquisition by Asos as part of a £330 million deal the brands have now announced a new visual identity created in association with Moving Brands to coincide with their participation in Asos’ US partnership with Nordstrom.

3. The Balenciaga Branded Lay’s Bag

At Balenciaga’s “Mud Show” presentation, models wore Lay’s bags as accessories. The bags are made from leather printed with packaging-inspired graphics. They cost $1,800 and were created in collaboration with Lay’s.

4. The LINE

The Line is a 170km long skyscraper being built for 9 million people to live in a new city in Saudi Arabia for 2030 and it is a new approach to urban development that puts humans first, providing an unprecedented urban living experience while preserving the surrounding nature. It redefines the concept of urban development and what cities of the future could look like.

5. Nothing Great Is Made Alone

Figma has been fighting the myth of how great ideas come from one inspired mind in design circles since they started. By developing the first web-based group design tool, they forced companies to reconsider their creative hierarchies and processes which they push for in this campaign from the agency Collins.

6. Lisa Larsson - Wall of Art

Lisa Larsson portrays figurative works with a sense of escapism and freedom in her paintings. She draws a lot of inspiration from her experiences as a female artist and has exhibited several times, including in New York, Miami, Los Angeles, Gothenburg and Stockholm. In her collaboration with Wall of art, she has created works of art painted in Gouache on paper with the theme of enjoyment of life.

Annnnnnd that’s a wrap! Until next week, have a great weekend! 👋
