An incredibly bold illustrator with a very particular style full of geometric shapes and color with lots of influences from the Bauhaus and the Memphis Group. Her work encompasses full-facade murals, immersive 3D installations, street art, interiors and set design — characterised by a fusion of bold colours and playful geometric patterns. Tasty!

4. KOKO
Dixon Baxi rebrands the iconic London music venue and turns the logo into a ticking clock to encapsulate the anticipation of waiting for a show. Find out more on DixonBaxi’s site.

5. The Ambient Machine
Yuri Suzuki’s new sound device highlights the background noise of our daily lives and gives us an opportunity to pay attention to the sounds around us. By flipping the first row of switches, you can choose from a range of sounds, from wave sounds, ambient music to white noise. The second row lets you control volume, while the third applies sound effects, the final row lets you alter the speed. Read more on Creative Boom.
People became conscious about the sound surrounding them, so I started to think about the importance of ambience,” Says Yuri. “I also thought it would be good to create a sound conditioner, in the same way, we use an air conditioner.”

7. Config kicked off
Figma’s virtual conference Config was live 10/11 May. Some big updates from Figma were announced in their opening keynote. Highlights included: absolute positioning for auto-layout and negative spacing for items, variable type support, individual strokes on objects, component’s can have set properties to keep design systems leaner and also there’s Dark Mode. Recordings of all 100+ sessions are expected to be on their YouTube around a week after they were aired.
