The global pandemic highlighted the absolute importance of maintaining an agile and adaptable business. The businesses that did not have the underlying structure and systems to support rapid change, failed to deploy upgrades that were crucial to success in the new COVID world. The ones that succeeded had invested in the mentality of agility and composability from top to bottom. While no one action or fix will ensure a composable system, ensuring an API first development mindset is in place, is a great starting point.

“For many organizations, basic composability is not a radically new approach but a natural evolution of their current best practices for application design.”

Businesses in the modern-day need to move towards an API-first architecture. Many enterprises are still locked into an old ‘UX only’ monolithic systems that are often well-integrated with themselves but struggle to have the flexibility that a modern company focusing on maximizing agility demands. These monolith providers are not competitively motivated to stay at the absolute forefront of technology, often ‘good enough’ seems to be the goal. Furthermore, being locked into another business’s entire system means your own composability and agility are at the mercy of the vendor’s practices. But it does not have to be this way.

By 2024, four out of five leading low-code application platforms will support codeless or low-code API integration.”

Additionally, in 2023, 60% of mainstream organizations will list API-first deployment within a composable enterprise as a primary strategic objective, but more than half of those organizations will underestimate or struggle with a key ingredient that will leverage the APIs and enables this strategy: content integration. To harmonize applications and package business capabilities within a composable ecosystem (SaaS, on-premise, self-hosted cloud), the need for sustainable, intelligent content integration, though API-first deployments, is critical. It will play a major factor in the success (or failure) of this movement.

ImpulseSync™, a SaaS-based Content Integration Platform, is designed specifically for providing a platform that enables the content logistics support to harmonize API-first, assembled systems. It provides intelligent, game-changing capabilities in automating and accelerating the real-world needs of migrating, syncing, storing, analyzing and delivering content between modular applications, packaged business capabilities and repositories — which are the core ingredient that drive composable strategies.
