What exactly does it mean to be content? I’ve been trying to find an answer to this question by asking others, but what I’ve come to realize is that everyone has their definition of what contentment is.

The way you would feel content is not the way someone else sees it, that doesn’t mean that the other person is greedy.

Many people mistake retardation for contentment. They are too lazy to work hard and too comfortable in their comfort zone that they take whatever comes to them and claim to be content.

Maybe you don't understand what the word contentment means, allow me to break it down for you. Contentment simply means satisfaction and gratitude.

To be content means you are grateful for what you have at the moment, and you derive satisfaction from that gratitude. It doesn't mean that because you are grateful, you can't aim to get more than you have currently.

It's simply the understanding that there are people who want what you have but don't have it, and for that you are grateful but you know you aren't in the position you want to be, so you keep pushing.

Contentment is not confinement for development. Stop hiding behind contentment while not working hard to get a better life.

How can you be eating one meal a day and you say you are contented, hence you do nothing to level up? That’s a poverty mentality, it’s not contentment.

That you have the desire to want a better life doesn’t mean you are greedy or that you aren’t content. When you become greedy is that point where you have enough to cater for your needs but you still go out of your way to gain more than you require.

“True contentment is not having everything but being satisfied with everything you have” Oscar wilde.

Contentment for different individuals depends on their definition of success. Nobody can claim to be content when they have not attained their definition of success.

If your definition of success is to be able to send your kids to school, put a roof over their heads and give them three square meals, then once you can do that you will be content.

Getting a Porsche or building a house would be a bonus. Getting 50 houses and 20 cars would be greedy.

There is nothing wrong with pursuing something more than your contentment as long as you do not get to the point of greed.

Contentment brings happiness and limits crimes that can be caused by greed.

It is even written in the Bible that Godliness with contentment is great gain. When you are truly content, your life becomes more enjoyable, devoid of envy and full of joy.

Don't limit your growth. Do all you can to be the best version of yourself.
