I have a cousin, younger to me. We are pretty close. He nods his head whenever there’s a deep discussion. That’s his way of showing his consent.

Uncle Ram is nostalgic. Kids try to sneak out to escape from his endless talks. But today me and my cousin got caught. No escape. We are doomed.😑

Uncle started his talk.😑

Me:😓

My brother: Nodding his head.

Me:😲 ( I couldn’t believe it. He is actually nodding in agreement!)

Past 15mins.

Uncle : Endless talking.. 😑

My brother: Nodding his head too much!

Me:😲 (What happened? His nod is hard and weird, unlike soft and normal.)

Uncle : Endless talking.. 😑

My brother: Weird nods 😓

Me: 😖(What’s happening?)

Uncle: Got distracted and stopped. Regained his consciousness. Continued his talk.

Me:😑

My cousin: Nod.. nod.. his head.

Me: 😓 (What’s his problem?)

Uncle: Got distracted and stopped.. ..(repeat🙂)

My cousin: Nod.. nod.. (repeat)

Me: Oh God, save me !😖

Suddenly.., uncle stood up and left. Miracle !😲

He never leaves us before 2–3hrs. Surprised ! Relieved? Definitely yes!!

My brother: Say thanks to me..

Me: Why?

Brother: I saved you.

Me: How?

My cousin: What how? I used my nods to stop him !!!

Me: ???

Back then I didn’t understand, but now I know.

He is right. An ACTIVE LISTENIER should nod his head softly, not abruptly. My cousin use this at his/our advantage. Do you agree?🙂
