Laugh Purposefully
Part 1 in the 7-part Series: “When It’s Laughter You’re After”
“Stop! Stop! My face hurts! Oh my gawd — my stomach! (Gasp) Stop! Oh my god, that was soooooooo funny! Quit making me laugh!!!”
Kathy and I were catching up on what had happened since we’d seen one another last, when one of us said something funny. I don’t have any idea now what it was. I’m betting she doesn’t either. But the more we laughed, the more we laughed.
Tears began rolling down our faces. We were both holding our sides and begging the other to stop. And as soon as we’d start to gain our composure, a giggle would escape from one of us and then an explosion of laughter ensued. We doubled over, howling, unaware of our surroundings and caught up in the ecstasy that can only be experienced by a tsunami of uncontrolled belly laughter.
This went on for several minutes and by the time we finally regained our composure, we were weak with laughter. Our stomach muscles ached. Our cheeks hurt. Our noses dripped. Tears and mascara streaked our faces. It was awesome!
