Love Is Not Erasable!
LOVE is the most important thing in the world and without it we cannot grow and thrive
Where was the Love between 2020 and 2021?
We are already four months into a new year that started off a bit on the rocky side. 2022 came in on the curtails of 2021 carrying with it an overflow of problems ranging from sickness, financial hardships, unemployment, and excessive loss of loved ones; just to name a few of the myriad of problems we faced. Sadly, 2021 wasn’t much better than 2020 which was really in a class by itself. It goes without saying that 2020 was tough for just about everybody so when 2021 rolled around society had high hopes that it would be better. Unfortunately, for a lot of us myself included 2021 was still a bit bleak.
While there were a lot of terrible things that took place in both 2020 and 2021 there were some good things as well. I know at times it can be hard to see the beauty in life when there is so much sadness and uncertainty that can lead to what seems like a lack of Love. One begins to feel a lack of love for self, a lack of love for others, and a lack of love for the world around them. This is unfortunate but is a part of the reality we are living in.
As I sat back and reflected on my life and the lives of those around me for the past two years, I was able to see the upside in the midst of all the chaos. I am not going to take time to list the things that I found beauty in during those two years because my discovery is not the point of this article. The point is in discovering the Love around you for yourself.
This is an opportunity for you to learn to see the upside to life even in the midst of the downside (Lorraine J.)
LOVE is the most important thing in the world and without it we cannot grow and thrive. More importantly though we must first learn to LOVE ourselves. Once we are capable of doing that, we can then see the BEAUTY that life has to offer even when things look bleak. So, take a moment to look back on 2020-2021 and try to see that amongst all the Chaos, Sickness, sadness and so on there was also a lot of LOVE SHARED. Start with yourself then move onto to seeing the Love in your family, friends, community and beyond.
Now move into 2022
Once you have reflected on the past two years stop and take a breath. Breathe in thoughts of the first three months of 2022 and check in with yourself. Look at who you are; good and bad and then accept, embrace, and LOVE YOU. After you’ve done that move on to the things and people around you and you’ll see that LOVE is still there somewhere. Remember, IT’S NOT ERASEABLE so it hasn’t left it just might be hiding, you may have to pull it out, dust it off and pick it back up. If that’s what you have to do then DO IT, don’t wait any longer because the longer you wait the harder it will be and that is where SHAME can often creep in.
Shame takes over when you least expect it to because you somehow tucked love away and didn’t even realize it. In doing so ALL the things you thought you let go of came rising to the surface and took over allowing you to dwell on everything negative in your life causing you to feel bad about yourself (shame) don’t allow this to happen. Don’t even allow it to put sunglasses over your eyes blocking out the scenery around you making you unable to see that you are loved by others or for you to see the love for others. Instead, begin to see this year as a year of healing taking it day by day, week by week and month by month there is still plenty of time; eventually you’ll begin to see the LOVE all around you and realize that it never left because LOVE IS NOT ERASEABLE!
