Our thoughts, feelings, and actions, all depend on our mental health. It is a state of well-being in which one realizes his or her abilities, deals with the stresses of life, and works productively. Mental health includes psychological, emotional, and social well-being. It is essential to make healthy choices and is important at every stage of life. It enables us to contribute to our community.

Awareness

Mental disorders are increasing day by day. So we need to know various symptoms related to different disorders. Only if we know then we can notice ourselves or anyone around us who is suffering from mental disorders. It is necessary to educate people through various awareness programs. There are many ways to aware people. One way is to include the content about mental illness in educational curriculums. The second is conducting seminars, so that individuals from various walks of life may know this issue. These seminars may be conducted by governments and other social welfare organizations. A third way is to use media. It can play an important role by using all formats that are electronic, social, and print. Also, we need to explore all the possible ways for awareness. Only then we could be able to cope with this emerging issue.

Tips to Improve Mental Health

By adopting these habits, one may be able to improve his or her mental health. There are many more but I will discuss some of them in this article.

Eat Well

Eating more fruits and vegetables with Omega-3 fatty acid-rich food such as salmon. Dark green leafy vegetables help in brain protection. Legumes, seeds, and Nuts are also good brain food. Others are chickens, avocados, spinach, yogurt, nuts, olive oil, etc.

Keep Active

Physical activity is very important for mental health. It enhances our well-being. You can increase mental alertness, energy, and positive mood through walking. Regular physical activity reduces stress and anxiety.

Take a Break

If you feel changes in eating habits, difficulty in concentration, getting sick more frequently, lack of energy, low mood, frustration, and depression, then you need to take a break from your work. Otherwise, this may lead you to a mental disorder. Take a break as much as you feel enough and then come back to your work.

Get Plenty of Sunlight

Take sunlight for 30 minutes to 2 hours but keep your skin and eyes safe. Doing this will help the brain to release the chemicals which improve your mood. In combination with other treatments, sun exposure can help people with anxiety and depression.

Get Plenty of Sleep

Enough sleep will facilitate the brain to process emotional information. While sleeping, the brain works to remember thoughts and memories. Seven to nine hours of sleep is enough for adults. It will boost your immune system, strengthen your heart, give you a better mood, increase productivity and improve memory.
