Anonymous: Make and be confident in your own decisions. Stop looking for people’s approval for everything. Live your life and do what you want.

There is always plenty of free advice floating in the air. Seers, friends, social media, parents; all of them have something to share. And there we are, seeking them; no harm at all.

But sometimes, we tend to follow all and sundry, bend backward to make changes in our lives, listen to sermons, and then there is so much burden.

We choose to take suggestions so randomly that it can only give us more pain and worry.

Advice is like a buffet. Different kinds and many temptations are placed before us to choose from. Let’s not pile up our plates with all that we see. We must choose what is best for us — we know our stomachs and appetite, so do we know our problems and worries. So, let’s choose what suits us and leave the rest.

That’s the best advice I can give you. Here are some more.

Sometimes your close family and friends tell you ‘what to do’ in a situation. Just out of sheer obligation you take their suggestions — not to offend them. Then you end up facing unpleasant consequences. You made the decision, they only suggested.

How do you then deal with choosing what is ‘best’ for you?

First, do not rush things. Most problems sort themselves. Stay calm and let it pass, unless it needs immediate action.

Next, understand that people talk from their experiences — their suggestions about their lives may not apply to yours. So, take time to think and choose. Decision-making leads to action — so make the right one.

You sometimes consider a second opinion after a doctor diagnosis your health issue. Similarly, another important thing to contemplate is, asking another person if you are unable to make a strong evaluation of your problem and related solution.

Have you noticed that when you look into the future and assess a decision you are in the process of making, you clearly see the consequences? They may be good or otherwise, but you see them. And yet you make those decisions. So before getting to the decision-making stage, look ahead — then when you choose to do what you think is right, be prepared for the outcome, good or not so good. Take time to visualize and then make the choice.

I’ve listed this last as we always do in life — ask the Universe — God for help. You will receive answers, without a doubt. Be sincere and believe, you will be amazed at the ease with which you resolve the challenge.
