The Best Pharmacies Deploy ‘Reset Buttons’
The first thing any IT support agent tells us to do before moving to more complex troubleshooting techniques is a reset. There is a good reason for this. The reset stops any misfiring components mid-stride and allows processes to try again without interference of the past. The same problem with a new start is a second chance at solving it without carrying the past failed attempts as baggage.
Perhaps a measure of success is the amount of failed attempts one makes, or in other words, being able to create a reset environment when others cannot or desire not to.
Leaders create reset opportunities
Trying again and again can be mentally exhausting, but what makes the greatest leaders successful when others are not is their ability to invent restart moments. Having checkpoints segments the path of hard work, making the job more palatable.
