Have you had these experiences?

People telling you:

Don’t talk to me about that — I don’t want to …

So, does this mean we talk to them only what they wish to hear? Then, what are conversations about when your friend or whoever, does not want to listen to what you are saying? A steak grilled only on one side?

Oh that message has been doing the rounds so often, I’ve already read that…

How do you, as the sender, know the receiver has read the message earlier. The receiver has the choice to avoid viewing it and keep quiet.

Just give me half a cup of ….

Oh! I find this most annoying, pouring the coffee into another cup and messing things up. “Why don’t you tell me in time”? (I mutter under my breath)

I cannot see washbasins with used utensils, it puts me off…

I say to myself …” Yes, me neither — but let it be for now…. go home and take care of your wash basin”!

Oh, I must gift her something — she gave me such and such gift for my birthday…

Why don’t you gift what you wish and when you wish and not because someone has given you this or that?

I don’t know if these would categorize under social skills, but these are some behaviors that may help.

Let’s learn to:

Appreciate what others do, even if it is not what you would

Don’t be so upfront with your thoughts and ideas, each one is different

Make the other person comfortable, it matters

Apply your mind and then make a choice

Choose your battles, everything in life is not not for fights

Don’t lay your home rules in others’ homes

I am sure there are many people behaviors that annoy you. Share some in the comments space.
