How to be more mindful?

I have been practicing mindfulness for over an year. Although my experience is that you get better with experience. While that is true, there are few tricks and tips that I have been using with relatively good effect.

Here are top 3 things to do to become more mindful:

1. Slow down

Slow down when you are doing something, think about the thing you are doing. For example if you are eating, instead of finish your breakfast in a rush. Take a more time to actually enjoy your meal.

2. Remind yourself

Remind yourself that you want to be mindful. As this is something that our body is not used to, constant reminder about that we need to mindful will help. Having an app or a alarm to remind at specific times in the day would be good to keep us on track.

3.Senseful

Be aware that we have five senses on our body. Typically we try to multitasking and think that we are optimizing our time. Research has proved that being on a single task is much better than doing multiple things at a time. So instead of watching TV and eating, try to use all your senses on the thing that you are doing.
