Learning from other Successful Entrepreneurs and their Beginnings

The most SUCCESSFUL entrepreneur needs to dig deep from within and find the reasons behind their expectations for success and harness. You must figure out what makes you STAND out from the many others that try to open a business.

Millions of businesses are established across the US in a year, however, the survival rate of these businesses have been statistically shown to decline across several years.

Entrepreneurs are often self-motivated based on the following factors:

  1. Their desire for a sense of personal control over outcomes
  2. Need for achievement, take risks, and create opportunities
  3. Ability to create and build something from practically nothing
  4. Mindset of faith and belief

As an entrepreneur it has been evidently difficult to become. So many individuals across the nation open businesses and are then expected to fail within the first year.

According to the Bureau of Statistics, “New business establishments make an important contribution to the economy; however, it is inevitable that some of these establishments will eventually fail”.

The graph presents the change in new business establishments and their tendencies to decline since 1994 up to 2015

Businesses generally aren’t successful because of their lack of purpose and ability to appeal to the typical consumer. Several businesses across the nation open without realizing what it is that they hope to accomplish or uniqueness of their goods and services. An entrepreneur must find their awe-inspiring desire to bring about a certain change within the business community and determine what it is that will support their business.

One of snapchat’s creative logos

However, several businesses have been proven to become quite a success, one of them being Snapchat, a platform which was launched by Evan Spiegel. Evan “proposed Snapchat in a class project while at Stanford and even left university to focus on it before completing his degree. Spiegel designed the Snapchat logo in his bedroom” (Dhaliwal 10). He believed in his idea and executed it perfectly which allowed his business to be extremely successful. In his company, which employs 450 people who “work innovatively in a playful environment that stimulates creativity” (Dhaliwal 10). The CEO of Snapchat believed in a workplace that nourished creativity and imaginative concepts which motivated employees to speak their minds. This allowed for a more collaborative and productive business and therefore, established Snapchat as a growing company.

On a less higher scale in comparison to Snapchat, lets discuss the beginnings of a prominently more enthusiastic entrepreneur that began from an extremely young age. iGeolise, “a high-tech innovative company that focuses on time, not distance, to a destination” (Dhaliwal 92), was founded by Charlie Davies. He began his venture in creating this business with his passion in the technology sector and love of helping people. He is extremely innovative because “he started his own business at the age of 12 fixing computers and designing websites for other people, mainly family and friends who couldn’t understand the technology” (Dhaliwal 92). Davies was ultimately driven by his professional role models and curiosity of how a computer works. We clearly learn that we need to know what makes us want to succeed and build a network for growth.

Our motivation for having to open a business begins and ends from what we truly love to do. An entrepreneur’s ideas to comes in three forms: To build a business to 1) help improve society, 2) obtain profits, 3) and both. We always need to know where to start and when we find our purpose, that is what needs to be easily spread across business consumers.
