Day 9 — Udhampur to Mohali

20th Aug
It was raining when we started our day from Udhampur.
And this day turned out to be the ‘Rain Riding Day’.
We took the Udhampur to Samba route, because we wanted to avoid Jammu. This route was shorter and was supposed to have least traffic.
What was bad about this route was this-
Imagine a road, the typical Indian road around the hills(not mountains), its raining heavily, landslides, very few shops/dhabas, mud+water.
This was our route till we reached the national highway. It was tough. I felt for some time that this was the toughest, but this feeling came time and again. This checked our resolve and concentration ! I had already fallen thrice from the bike and twice in a nallah(walking) i.e 5 times !
I didn’t want to fall again. We rode and finally reached outskirts of Pathankot.
Some childhood memories gathered in my head !
We rode towards Mukerian, and then Dasuya to Hoshiarpur. Being a Sardar, I am always happy to be in Punjab. I wanted to take detour and go to Amritsar and visit the Golden temple, but I guess we just wanted to get back home and feel the ‘feel’ of completing the trip in one piece.
Finally we reached Kharar, and then Mohali.
BEEP BEEP !
My mom opens the gate, we take our bikes inside. And we are the happiest.
Dad gets us a cake in the evening !

“Degh Tegh Fateh”

Not many photos were clicked this day, because my Nikon P500 is not waterproof.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
