Paul Brody is the Global Blockchain Leader at Ernst & Young (EY). He took up the leadership role at EY in order to coordinate their global investment in this area and also works at IBM developing the ADEPT platform.

He is also a regular contributor for CoinDesk, a platform for news and information on cryptocurrencies, digital assets and the future of money, where he talks about the carbon footprint of blockchain and compares it to other systems.

In late 2021, Paul gave his perspective and years of experience to the COINS documentary podcast. The podcast goes through the history of blockchain, crytpto and bitcoin from the early days of the cypherpunk movement, through the Bitcoin White Paper in the late aughts through to today. In Episode 3 of COINS, “The Birth of Bitcoin,” Paul gave his perspective on the ideology powering Bitcoin and the greater context around the Bitcoin White Paper and its reception.

“The vision behind Bitcoin was, actually very simple, which is we must have or there is a role for a system of storing value, making payments that cannot be politically influenced,” Paul explains in the episode. “It can’t be changed, that is absolutely verifiable and trustworthy.”

Paul joins a host of other great guest speakers, including Dave Jevans of CipherTrace and Erik Voorhees from ShapeShift.

Brody Has Been Filling Management and Analysis Positions Since 1993

Prior to working at EY, he worked at IBM for more than 12 years. He was initially a partner, before moving up to the vice president and global industry leader in electronics, and eventually becoming the vice president and North America leader in mobile and the internet of things.

From 1999 to 2001 he was the vice president of business development at ClearCross, and was a Director of Channels solutions at i2 Technologies.

He was an Analyst at McKinsey & Co from 1995 to 1997 where he focused on healthcare and technology strategy projects in the US and Asia.
